Fabricator/Welder

The candidate will be required to perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, stainless steel and carbon steel.

 

​Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting components as required.

  • Read and follow engineering drawings to ensure accurate and precise weld placements and fabrications.

  • To join and assemble precision metal components using advanced welding techniques, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and dimensional tolerances within both workshop and production environments

  • Attention to detail in all welding and fabrication tasks.

  • Maintain and clean welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.

  • Record and document welding and fabrication activities, including materials used & weld settings.

  • Carry out duties with minimum supervision using own initiative to plan and prioritise workload within set timescales


Experience & Skills

  • Experienced in performing TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, stainless steel & carbon steel materials

  • Use of related fabrication machinery such as break press, guillotine knowledge and experience

  • Carry out duties with minimum supervision using own initiative to plan and prioritise workload within set timescales

  • Minimum of 5 years experience after qualification

  • Comprehensive understanding of welding and fabrication safety protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Salary

  • £17.50 per hour plus overtime paid at x1.5

  • Full-Time (8-hours a day Monday-Thursday, 7-hours Friday) Flexibility in hours offered between the times of 6.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and between 6.30am-4pm on Fridays.
